How much dried oregano equals fresh oregano?
I like to us a ratio of 3 to 1. In other words 3 tsp of fresh oregano = 1 tsp of dried oregano. You can simplify this and turn tablespoons into teaspoons. 2 tablespoons of fresh oregano = 2 teaspoons of dried oregano. This can be used as a general rule for all dried herbs.
We are big fans of Mexican dishes. This just happens to be one of our favorites. I like to double the recipe and take it as a potluck dish. I just keep put it back in the crock-pot to stay warm

I got this fun popcorn recipe from a neighbor. They made up the herb seasoning and sealed it in with their “Food Saver”. Then they gave it as gifts with a bag of popcorn and a recipe. Clever! You could even add a movie.
We like to make popcorn when we go camping. We use our campfire popcorn popper and dress it up with this recipe.
- Makes enough herb mix for 12 cups of popped popcorn
- Blend together –
- 2 tsp. paprika
- 1 tsp. dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper
- 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp. cumin
Store this mixture in a tightly sealed container. Sprinkle over warm popped popcorn that has been lightly sprayed with a vegetable cooking spray…enjoy!
